IFAKO-IJAIYE LOCAL GOVERNMENT HOLDS 2026 “BUDGET OF HARMONY” RETREAT

In its continuous drive to strengthen grassroots governance and promote inclusive development, the Ifako-Ijaiye Local Government has successfully concluded its 2026 Budget Retreat tagged “Budget of Harmony.”

The three-day strategic session, held at Mitros Residences, Abeokuta, Ogun State, brought together Heads of Departments, Units, and other key officials of the Council in an atmosphere of collaboration and purposeful engagement. The retreat focused on developing a people-centered financial plan that truly reflects the aspirations and priorities of residents.

Declaring the retreat open, the Executive Chairman, Prince Usman Akanbi Hamzat (UAH), fcpa, reaffirmed his administration’s unwavering commitment to transparency, accountability, and sustainable development. He emphasized that the HEEDS governance template—Health, Education, Empowerment, Development, and Security—remains the guiding framework for the Council’s policies and programs.

“This retreat is not just about figures and allocations; it’s about people—our beloved Ifako-Ijaiye residents. Every kobo in this budget must speak to the welfare and progress of our Council,” the Chairman stated.

Throughout the retreat, participants took part in a series of insightful sessions and expert-led lectures on effective budgeting, strategic planning, and innovative approaches to grassroots administration. The interactive format encouraged cross-departmental collaboration, ensuring that every sector of the local economy and community life was represented in the deliberations.

The 2026 Budget Retreat concluded on a high note, with participants reaffirming their collective resolve to deliver a harmonized, inclusive, and results-oriented financial plan that will further drive growth and improve the quality of life for the people of Ifako-Ijaiye.
