Osun Female Football Team Targets Gold at Gateway Games 2024

The assistant captain of Osun State’s female football team, Suliyat Busari, has expressed her team’s ambition to win the gold medal at the ongoing Gateway Games 2024 National Sports Festival. Speaking after a training session, Suliyat emphasized her team’s determination to excel, building on their previous success at the Southwest Zonal Elimination Games in Oyo State.

“We’re not here to make up numbers; we’re here for the ultimate prize – the gold medal,” Suliyat declared. “As the best female football team from the Southwest, we won’t settle for anything less than being the best in the country.”

Suliyat praised the coaches for their efforts in preparing the team, highlighting rigorous training sessions and morale-boosting talks. “We’ve put in a lot of work, and we’re fully prepared for the challenge ahead. We believe that with our determination and hard work, we can bring home the crown.”

While acknowledging the strong competition from other states, Suliyat remains optimistic about her team’s chances. “We’ll face tough opponents, but we’re confident in our abilities. We’re hoping and praying that we’ll emerge victorious.”
