Enugu State to Host Next National Sports Festival

The Director-General of the National Sports Commission, Hon. Bukola Olopade, has announced that Enugu State will host the next edition of the National Sports Festival. Speaking at the ongoing Gateway Games 2024 in Abeokuta, Hon. Olopade extended an invitation to other states interested in hosting future editions to submit their bids.
Hon. Olopade emphasized the importance of early planning in ensuring a successful festival. “This process ensures that the next host state is well-prepared and adequately equipped to deliver a seamless and impactful event,” he said.
The Director-General commended the strong synergy between the Main Organizing Committee (MOC) and the Local Organizing Committee (LOC) for the smooth start of the Gateway Games. He particularly praised the arrangements made for accommodation and feeding, describing them as “superb” with no complaints received from any state contingents.
Hon. Olopade highlighted the strategic inclusion of young athletes from the National Youth Games in this year’s festival, aimed at preparing them for the next Olympic Games. “The National Sports Festival is a key platform for nurturing future champions,” he added.
The National Sports Festival continues to play a vital role in promoting unity, youth development, and sports excellence across Nigeria. With Enugu State set to host the next edition, the stage is set for another exciting celebration of sports and culture.
