NRFF Unveils Stallions Sevens Squad for 2025 Rugby Africa Men’s Sevens Tournament in Mauritius
Lagos, Nigeria – The Nigeria Rugby Football Federation (NRFF) is proud to announce the Stallions Sevens squad that will represent the country at the 2025 Rugby Africa Men’s Sevens Tournament in Mauritius.
The team will compete against top rugby sevens nations from Africa, vying for a coveted spot in the 2025 World Rugby AfricaAfter an intense two-month build-up, including appearances at various tournaments, Head Coach Steve Lewis expressed confidence in the squad’s readiness.
“We’re pleased with the players’ commitment and growth,” Lewis said. “It’s great to have Declan Nwachukwu and Kolade Adedoyin back from injury, and we’re excited about the fresh energy from new call-ups.
“The Stallions Sevens squad features a blend of experience and emerging talent, with:- Experienced players like Frederick Henry-Ajudua and Oghenesuvwe Obano bringing physicality and presence- Captain Kitto Oliver providing leadership and composure- New call-ups like Joshua Addams, Isa Omale, Tuoyo Egodo, and Akeem Yusuf injecting fresh energy.
Nigeria will face tough competition in Pool B, with matches against:- South Africa (7:06 AM WAT on June 21)- Burkina Faso (9:28 AM WAT on June 21)- Zambia (12:12 PM WAT).
The team will undergo final preparations at a pre-tournament training camp in London before heading to Mauritius.The NRFF expressed gratitude to the National Sports Commission, partners, and supporters for their continued backing as the team strives to elevate Nigerian rugby on both the continental and global stages.
