The Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN), Lagos State chapter, in collaboration with the Pan African American Chamber of Commerce (PAACC), recently hosted a successful Food Security and Sports Diplomacy event to commemorate the United Nations World Nutrition Month.

According to Ambassador Olatutu Oladunni, Chairman of Lagos SWAN, the partnerships and sponsorships were instrumental in the event’s success.

“These companies have consistently demonstrated their commitment to community advancement, youth development, and socio-economic growth through their Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives and support for the Sustainable Development Goals,” she said.

The event brought together high-profile personalities, including His Royal Majesty, Kabiyesi Olowu of Owu, Abeokuta, Oba (Prof) Saka Adelola Matemilola, and his wife, Queen Adijat Adelola Matemilola, who was honored as the new face of Lagos SWAN’s Sports Diplomacy Tourism and Culture Ambassador.

Other notable attendees included representatives from the Defence Headquarters, Nigeria Customs Service, and prominent figures from the academic and security sectors.

The event featured international food exhibitors and students from local universities.

Ambassador Oladunni expressed gratitude to the partners and sponsors, saying, “We cannot but thank the Almighty God for the success of the program, and more importantly, Lagos SWAN recognized with humility the support we got from our friends in the private sector who believed in our cause to redirect and reinvigorate sports journalism in Lagos.”

The partnerships and support from these companies have taken Lagos SWAN to a new level of progress and advancement, providing the association with better relevance and recognition in the society.
