CAF Offers Condolences After Tragic Football Match Incident in Algeria

The Confédération Africaine de Football (CAF) has expressed its deepest condolences to the Fédération Algérienne de Football, the Government of Algeria, and the people of Algeria following a tragic incident during MC Alger’s league title celebrations.

According to the Algerian Ministry of Health, three spectators lost their lives, and over 70 were injured during the match between MC Alger and Najem Magra.

CAF President Dr. Patrice Motsepe said, “CAF is deeply saddened by the loss of lives and injuries sustained by football spectators during the match. We express our deep condolences to the Fédération Algérienne de Football, the Algerian Government, and the people of Algeria.”

Dr. Motsepe assured that CAF will continue to be in contact with the Fédération Algérienne de Football and provide any necessary assistance. The organization wishes a speedy recovery to those injured and prays for the families who lost their loved ones.

The CAF community stands in solidarity with the people of Algeria during this difficult time, offering support and condolences to those affected by the tragic incident.
