Gateway Games 2024: Lagos SWAN Extends Condolences to Kano SWAN and Kano Government Following Tragic Accident

The Executive Committee of the Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN), Lagos chapter, extends its deepest condolences to the Kano State chapter of SWAN, the Kano State Government, and the people of Kano State following the tragic road accident that claimed the lives of some members of the state’s contingent to the 22nd National Sports Festival, Gateway Games 2024, held in Abeokuta, Ogun State.

The accident, which occurred on their way back from the 22nd National sports Festival held in Abeokuta, Ogun State.

The accident which claim the loss of no fewer than 21 lives, including some members of our esteemed association.

The Lagos SWAN chapter is deeply saddened by this tragic news and offers its heartfelt sympathies to the families of the deceased, Kano SWAN, and the Kano State Government.

“We are shocked and deeply sorry for the loss of these dear lives of our members and others in the contingent,” said Ambassador Olatutu Oladunni, Chairman of Lagos SWAN.

“We condole with our people in Kano SWAN, the families of the deceased sports journalists, and the entire people of Kano State.

We also express our condolences to the National Leadership of SWAN led by Mr. Isaiah Benjamin on this tragic loss.”

Lagos SWAN prays that the families, Kano SWAN, and the Kano State Government find the strength to bear this irreparable loss.
